I found a post about Mylene's character growth in episode 33 among my drafts so I cleaned it up a bit, finished it, and posted it here! <:

I've been pretty damn busy lately due to various issues and misfortines that hit me (and my computer) in the past few months, so I haven't had much time to do anything new for this page. Hopefully things calm down soon enough for me and I have the time and energy to spare for Macross 7 once again! Meanwhile, and since I doubt anyone really reads these updates this is more of a note to myself, a huge Macross poll was going on at NHK Japan and Macross 7 got some wonderful results! Basara ranked at #2 among people's favourite Macross characters, Macross 7 ranked at #3 for favourite show, and Totsugeki Love Heart at #3 for favourite song! Fire Valkyrie got #4 among favourite mechs. A really nice full rundown of the results can be found here on DeCultureShock! One thing I want to throw my 2 cents in is a vague comment by Kawamori, stating that he might be interested in working on a Macross 7 sequel. Now... you'd THINK a fanboy like me would be excited about it, but I honestly don't know how to feel. More than anything, it leaves me worried and anxious. Macross 7 had a really nice wrap-up with Dynamite, and every time a good story gets a sequel, there's at least a 70% chance that it will mess up the story and the characters. Not to mention that Macross is infamously inconsistent series-to-series, so how a sequel series would work out is beyond me.
On the other hand, a sequel would shed light on the old show and introduce it to more people. I guess I just hope that, if a Macross 7 sequel will actually happen someday, that they try to stay true to the spirit of the original, especially in regards to Basara's character. Also, beinging back Mikimoto as a character designer would be ideal. Designs really went downhill after Macross 7. Now, an extremely important thing to point out is, that the article I linked does say that everything said by Kawamori was extremely vague and should be taken with a grain of salt which I'm honestly quite happy to do. There's also the fact that Kawamori mentions a new project and follows it up saying he'd be interested in doing a Macross 7 sequel, meaning that the current Macross project he may or may not be involved in is NOT the mentioned possible sequel. So yeah, basically I wanted to put these thoughts somewhere, and this is probably the best place to do it lmao Cheers, -Jim Having recently rewatched Dynamite, I finally felt like I had enough material to properly express my interpretation of the main Dynamite plot. You can read about it here!
I hope that I'll have time to write up a full article regarding the muse aspect of Sivil and the whales soon! Cheers! I just finished my third rewatching of Macross Dynamote 7 and decided to finally write a review of it on MyAnimeList.
Archive of that can be found here! After getting my hands on the Macross 7 Animation Materials book, I did some research regarding what I used to think was gibberish sheet music, but that might not be the case?
I expanded the old theory about Basara's handwriting to include the new research! Befitting to the turn of the year, I finally wrote karaoke lyrics for NEW FRONTIER.
Happy new year, everyone!!
ANALYSIS OF BASARA NEKKI has been updated with better wording and minor additions.
It's been a while!!
I've had some health issues, but am recovering well, and it's about time to finally post a theory I've been constructing for some time now! I just finished rewatching Macross 7 my third time this year, this time with my brother who absolutely loved it. Speaking of my brother, he's a musician who knows a thing or two about music (I mean, I'd hope), and he helped me identify the various guitars Basara owes by type! That fun titbit has been added to the TRIVIA page. Back to my theory, having seen the show three times now I am more and more confident I might be quite accurate with it; BASARA DID NOT USE THE POWER OF ANIMA SPIRITIA I also added some slight updates to the page SONG ENERGY COLOURS. Today I came across what I like to call a 'predecessor' site, a Fukuyama-focused fansite that provided lyrics and translations of his songs. Some of those songs are also used as Fire Bomber songs and credited to Basara as the artist, so I added romaji and english lyrics for ROAD OF DREAMS (+ some trivia I picked up on a different site), LIKE A FIRE and NEVER SAY DIE.
